π’ Attention Lower Hutt Schools – Drawing Competition Opportunity!
Electrify the Hutt 2025 invites your students (ages 5–12) to take part in the “Imagine an Electric Future” Drawing Competition as part of the Electrify the Hutt Expo. This is a great chance to spark conversations about sustainability, creativity, and the future of clean energy — and your school could win funding towards a project.
π« Why get involved?
- $3,000 School Prize – awarded to one Lower Hutt school based on the number of participating students and the quality of the school’s project proposal.
- Student prizes – including a $300 EVO Cycles voucher and 15 recognition prizes (pool passes).
- A chance for your students to engage with future-focused learning in a fun, creative way.
βοΈ Competition details
- Theme: “Imagine an Electric Hutt / School / Home” – how would life look in a fully electrified world?
- Ages: 5–12 years
- Opens: 1st September | Closes: 1 October
- Submission: Collect all entries at your school and drop them off in bulk at the Council reception (30 Laings Road, Lower Hutt).
π Each drawing must include:
- Student’s full name and age
- School name
- A school contact person (email/phone)
π Prize-giving
Winners will be announced at the Electrify the Hutt Expo on Saturday 4th October 2025 at the Lower Hutt Town hall (Prizes can be collected any time, event runs until 4pm). Students can collect their artwork after the event.

Looking for a fun family day out? Join us at the Electrify the Hutt Expo on Saturday 4th October 2025 at the Lower Hutt Town Hall
This free community event is all about exploring a cleaner, electric future for our homes, schools, and city. You’ll get the chance to:
- Check out electric cars, bikes, and scooters πβ‘
- Learn about solar, wind, and other renewable energy ππ¨
- Discover practical ways to save energy at home π‘
- Enjoy interactive stalls, demos, and activities for the whole family πͺ
And of course — celebrate the winners of the kids "Imagine an Electric Future" Drawing Competition! π

- When: Saturday 4th October 2025

- Time: All day until 4pm (competition prizes can be collect anytime at the expo, attend to find out who won)

π¨β‘ Parents – Your Child Can Enter the “Imagine an Electric Future” Drawing Competition!
Do you have a young artist at home aged 5–12? Encourage them to enter "Imagine an Electric Future" Drawing Competition.
Kids are invited to draw their vision of an electric future — whether it’s a home, school, or city powered by clean energy. Think electric cars, scooters, toys, solar panels, or even new inventions powered by electricity!
π How to Enter (for individual submissions)
If your child’s school is not Lower Hutt based, or submitting entries as a group, you can enter directly:
- Create a drawing (1 entry per child).
- Clearly label with:
- Child’s name (first & last)
- Age
- School name
- Parent/caregiver contact details
- Drop off or post the entry at the Council Reception, 30 Laings Road, Lower Hutt before 1 October 2025.

π If you’re from outside Lower Hutt — your child is still welcome to enter! While the $3,000 school prize is for Lower Hutt schools only, all individual students (ages 5–12) are eligible for the main and recognition prizes.
